Good news in 2020-2022!ARM

There were many pieces of excellent news, including nice publications, graduations, getting positions, guests, conference presentations, and new participations in the lab!

Here is the list of happy events.

2020

Publications: Four original peer-reviewed papers (one paper in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America Express Letters and one paper in Multisensory Research) and one review paper (in Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences) written by Dr. Wolf as the first author were published (see the Research page).

Conference presentations: Hikaru presented his papers at the meeting of the Acoustical Society of Japan (see the Kyushu University official Website).

Graduations: Ms. Asuka Takao and Mr. Mamoru Miyata graduated from the undergraduate course in March 2020.

Joining: Mr. Daiki Higuchi and Ms. Riina Kawakami joined the lab in April 2020. Mr. Geng-Yan Jhang joined as a doctral student in October 2020 (his original plan of joining in April had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Mr. Koutaro Munechika joined the lab in October 2020.

2021

Publications: Three original peer-reviewed papers, which were based on the data collected by Mr. Hirotatsu Koga, Mr. Daiki Higuchi, and Ms. Riina Kawakami, and one review paper written by Dr. Wolf as the first author, were published in Attention, Perception, & Psychophysics, JASA Express Letters, and Frontiers in Psychology (see the Research page).

Conference presentations: Riina and Koutaro, presented their papers at the meeting of the Acoustical Society of Japan. Ola (Dr. Wolf) presented her papers at ECVP 2021 and Fechner Day 2021. Kazuo presented his papers at the Auditory Research Meeting, the Speech Communication Meeting, the meeting of the Japanese Psychological Association, the meeting of the Acoustical Society of Japan, and Fechner Day 2021 (see the Kyushu University official Website).

Graduations: Mr. Daiki Higuchi and Ms. Riina Kawakami graduated from the undergraduate course and Mr. Hikaru Eguchi graduated from the Master's course in March 2021. They got their jobs at Hope Inc., Rion Co., and NTT Com Solutions Co. (the company was merged into NTT Communications Co. in July 2021).

Joining: Ms. Linh Doan joined the lab as a Master's course student in April 2021. Mr. Rikito Takahashi joined the lab as an undergradutate student in April 2021.

2022

Publications: Two original peer-reviewd papers were published. One paper written by Mr. Hikaru Eguchi, based on his graduation thesis, was published in Scientific Reports. Another paper was based on the data collected by Mr. Rikito Takahashi and was published in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (see the Research page). A Japanese textbook on perceptual psychology, partly contributed by Kazuo, was published.

Conference presentations: Geng-Yan, Linh, Hiroshige, Ola, and Kazuo presented their papers at Fechner Day 2022. Ola presented her paper at ECVP 2022. Ting-Shan presented his paper at the Speech Communication Meeting. Linh, Koutaro, and Kazuo presented their papers at the meeting of the Acoustical Society of Japan. Kazuo presented his papers at the Acoustical Society of America, P&P Virtual Journal Club, and at the meeting of the Japanese Psychological Association. Geng-Yan, Linh, Koutaro, and Masashi presented their papers at the Auditory Research Meeting. (See the Kyushu University official Website.)

Graduations: Mr. Koutaro Munechika graduated from the undergraduate course in March 2022 and continued his research in the Master's course. Mr. Rikito Takahashi graduated from the undergraduate course. Mr. Tang Ting Shan graduated from the Master's course and went back to China.

Getting a researcher position: Dr. Alexandra Wolf got her position in RIKEN in April 2022. Congratulations!

Joining: Mr. Masashi Hashimoto and Mr. Jun Hasegawa joined the lab.

A special guest: Prof. Valter Ciocca, the University of British Columbia, visited our lab in December 2022, and provided his invited lecture at the Auditory Research Meeting on 17 December 2022 (see the photo at the top of this page).
