Fechner Day 2012
Fechner Day 2012, the 28th Annual Meeting of the International Society for Psychophysics took place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, from 18 to 21 October, 2012. The Society's main activity is to hold a scientific meeting once a year, gathering scientists who are interested in psychophysics. The meeting is always organized in a single session, not too large with around 100 participants, scientifically stimulating, and cozy. Kazuo Ueda presented an oral paper entitled "Perceptual roles of different frequency bands in Japanese syllable identification," with Kiyoto Noguchi, Yuichi Satsukawa, and Yoshitaka Nakajima as coauthors. Yoshitaka presented an oral paper entitled "Acoustic correlate of phonological sonority in British English," by Yoshitaka Nakajima, Kazuo Ueda, Shota Fujimaru, Hirotoshi Motomura, and Yuki Ohsaka. Tsuyoshi presented an oral paper entitled "French an dEnglish rhythms are preceptually discriminable with only intensity changes in low-frequency regions of speech," by Tsuyoshi Kuroda, Simon Grondin, Yoshitaka Nakajima, and Kazuo Ueda; Emi presented an oral paper entitled "Perceiving filled vs. empty time intervals: A comparison of adjustment and magnitude estimation methods," by Emi Hasuo, Yoshitaka Nakajima, Erika Tomimatsu, Simon Grondin, and Kazuo Ueda.
