Student-Produced Bilingual Experimental Theatre “Tsukikage Village”

As part of the Kyushu University School of Design course “Comparative Theatre & Media Culture Laboratory (比較演劇・メディア文化演習)”, students have created the stage production “Tsukikage Village”, which will be performed on the Ohashi Campus as outlined below.

In this course, students explored how globally renowned works can be localized within Japanese culture and reimagined in connection with contemporary social issues. Tsukikage Village was developed as the outcome of this learning process. Inspired by David Lynch’s iconic series Twin Peaks, the production boldly relocates the story to an imaginary village in Kyushu, combining film, theatre, and media art in a unique stage design created by the student team.

The production was highly acclaimed when it was presented at the Minamiku Art Next Collection in Fukuoka City in October 2025, and this upcoming performance will be its encore presentation.
We invite you to experience the world of “Twin Peaks × Kyushu” brought to life on our campus.
