Saku Ogita and Renta Kushiro, first-year Master’s students in the Acoustic Design Course at the Graduate School of Design, Kyushu University, have been awarded the Excellent Project Production Award for their spatial audio work titled Stargazing (TENTAI KANSOKU) at the 11th ReC♪ST Student Music Recording Excellence Contest.

About the ReC♪ST Contest
Organized by the Japan Audio Society (JAS), ReC♪ST is a prestigious competition that seeks to discover compelling music recording works created by students. The contest highlights works that demonstrate flexible thinking and creative approaches to audio production.

Award-Winning Work: Stargazing (TENTAI KANSOKU)
The winning piece is an ambient music composition featuring a sophisticated 24.2-channel surround sound configuration. The work was inspired by and modeled after the duo’s real-life experiences of stargazing, translating the vastness of the night sky into an immersive auditory experience.
