Workshop with the photographer Yasutaka Kojima

We are pleased to invite the Berlin-based photographer Yasutaka Kojima to join us for an artist talk and a workshop. He won the Grand Prize of the 2022 HARIBAN AWARD International Collotype Competition for his series, “Naka-Ima | Berlin.” His solo exhibition of the same title is currently presenting at KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival. In this workshop, participants will design a photographic exhibition using this award-winning work.

This workshop is held as the part of the temporary course “Developing Curatorial Concepts”, but is open to the public. If you are interested in attending the WS, please register in advance here:

Yasutaka Kojima (*1977, Tokyo)
currently lives and works in Berlin. In 2006, he moved to the US and completed the General Studies Program at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York, where he received the Director’s Scholarship Award. In 2011, he was selected by the Agency of Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan for the Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists. In 2015, he participated in the International Studio Program at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin. His recent solo exhibitions include Tokyo | Berlin (Künstlerhaus Bethanien, 2016), and his recent group exhibitions include Tokyo Curiosity 2020 Shibuya (Bunkamura The Museum, 2020), Reading Images: The Time of Photography (Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, 2019), and Tokyo and TOKYO ContemporaryJapanese Photography vol. 13 (Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, 2016).
