Ayuka Tsukahara, a second-year student in Miyazaki Nishi High School, is participating in the Kyushu University Future Creators in Science Project (QFC-SP). She received the Future Scientists Award for her presentation at the 17th Asian Conference on Analytical Sciences (ASIANALYSIS XVII 2025). The research title was “Trace analysis of fragrance components and insecticide attractants by femtosecond laser ionization mass spectrometry”.
Ayuka Tsukahara has been studying in Tomoko Imasaka‘s laboratory, Department of Environmental Design, Faculty of Design, as a research student under the QFC-SP program since December of last year. She has been conducting research on the analytical method for fragrance components and insect attractants using femtosecond laser ionization mass spectrometry.
ASIANALYSIS is the largest international analytical science conference in Asia, co-hosted by analytical science societies in Asian countries (The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry is responsible for this conference in Japan). This year marked the 17th conference, with approximately 270 participants. The first conference was held in Japan and has since been continued in China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
The Future Scientists Award was established for the first time in the 34-year history of ASIANALYSIS, and Ayuka Tsukahara was the first recipient of this prize.
