[Award] Associate Professor Masahiro Takita Receives the 2025 Good Design Award for “Fostering Card Kit TOKETA”

The “Fostering Card Kit TOKETA,” developed under the direction of Associate Professor Masahiro Takita of the Department of Strategic Design, Faculty of Design, Kyushu University, has been honored with the 2025 Good Design Award.

TOKETA is a specially designed card kit that enables children living in foster families to express their feelings, gain a clearer understanding of the foster care system and daily life, and feel a greater sense of security. While conventional materials in this field have primarily targeted adults, TOKETA addresses the needs of children directly, and has been highly acclaimed as an exemplary design that respects and upholds the rights of the child.

The project was originally commissioned by the Nippon Foundation in 2020 and realized through a collaboration with the design office UMA/design farm. It is currently published by the General Incorporated Association Welfare & Design and is being actively implemented by child guidance centers, foster care support organizations, and related institutions across Japan.
