The reason why I chose the Graduate School of Design
During my undergraduate studies, I was involved in research in the field of biotechnology, which sparked a strong interest in bioinformatics. The Graduate School of Design at Kyushu University appealed to me because it offers the chance to study not only creativity through design and art, but also to cross over into scientific fields like biology and informatics. I felt that this environment would allow me to develop my research from a broader perspective, which led me to decide to continue my studies here.
My most memorable class
One particularly memorable class was "Arts Management." By adopting the perspective of an art manager and engaging in actual group work, I had the opportunity to consider how to engage with issues faced by local communities and the arts. The class was enriched by practical feedback from the teacher, allowing me to experience "the realities of professional practice" that go beyond theory alone.
My student life
My student life is very well-balanced and fulfilling, encompassing classes, research, club activities, and part-time work. In particular, joining an a cappella club on another campus has allowed me to meet students from diverse backgrounds, which has greatly broadened my perspective. The balance between time devoted to research and time enjoying music and activities with friends provides daily stimulation.
