On Thursday, January 22, 2026, the Graduate School of Design held a concert and public lecture titled “What Is Music?—We Don’t Really Understand Music, Do We?” (「音ガクってなんだろう?~みんなおんがくがわからんけん~」), exploring how people with different types of hearing can share their appreciation of music. A highlights video of the event is now available on the Geiko official YouTube channel.
The Graduate School of Design, Kyushu University, offers a class called “Studio Project,” in which students from various programs come together to tackle real-world challenges. In the second semester of the “Hall Management Engineering Project,” one of the studio project courses offered in the 2025 academic year, students created three short performances. At this concert, these works were presented alongside a panel discussion, which explored both the creative process and key considerations in examining the relationship between hearing impairment and music.
