[Award] Faculty Member and Alumnus Receive Honors at the 2026 Architectural Institute of Japan Awards

At the 2026 Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) Awards, Live Sawn House, designed by Associate Professor Masaaki Iwamoto of the Department of Environmental Design, Faculty of Design,  and others, received the AIJ Annual Architectural Design Commendation 2026.
In addition, NOT A HOTEL FUKUOKA, designed by Kei Sasaki, an alumnus of the Department of Environmental Design, School of Design, and others, received the AIJ Young Architect Award for Selected Architectural Designs 2026.

Live Sawn House was recognized as “an ambitious project that advocates for the cyclical use of forests,” while NOT A HOTEL FUKUOKA was evaluated as “architecture that creates new value within a residential neighborhood.”
