The 1st Miyawaka International Art Triennale TRAiART Student Competition] Masaya Mizuta’s “A sneaker for the everyday life of ants” won the Excellence Award and will be exhibited for three years.

Masaya Mizuta, a first year master student of Design Strategy, has won the Excellence Award at the 1st Miyawaka International Art Triennale TRAiART Student Competition for his “A sneaker for the everyday life of ants”.
The work will be exhibited on the first floor of the TRIAL IoT Lab (former Miyata West Junior High School) in Miyawaka City for three years from July 2021 to May 2024.

Description of the work
Ants are pitiful creatures. They are often trampled on and exterminated as pests. As urbanisation progresses and more and more ground is made of concrete, their nests are losing their place. To help these poor ants, we have designed “trainers for ants”.
-This is a fictional design story. The story is fictional, but if animal welfare continues to go too far, ants will eventually become a target of animal welfare. But if animal rights continue to go too far, ants will eventually become a target of animal rights, and in that future, will they feel comfortable with the story and the shape of these trainers?
