Visit from University of Kaiserslautern (RPTU)

On 20 September, Professor Helmut Kleine-Kraneburg, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern (RPTU), his assistant professors and students visited the Ohashi Campus as part of a studio trip.

Professor Tanoue, who designed the Design Common, explained his design philosophy and methods in detail, greatly interested Professor Kleine-Kraneburg and his students specializing in architecture.

After the sharing, the group visited our newly renovated Design Library, the Design Workshop, and the Digital Workshop.
At the Design Library, they heard the concept of restoration and renovation of the Design Library. They were interested in what parts of the past have been retained and restored and how the various spaces have been designed to keep up with educational changes, such as the Active Learning Corridor, Concentration Booth, VA Lounge, etc.
At the Design Workshop, they got to see the working spaces of the students and the various tools, machines, and materials available. The group is especially fascinated with the aroma of one type of wood.
They also visited the Digital Workshop and see the high-performance 3D printers and other equipment for digital image formation to create complex entity models.

We hope the group has a good learning experience with us.
