Visit from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)

On September 27 and 28, Professor Bedik Manum of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) Faculty of Architecture and Design visited the Faculty of Design.

Associate Professor Takatori, Assistant Professor Asik, Assistant Professor Inamura, and Assistant Professor Shimomura met him on the first day and introduced the educational program and research of the Graduate School of Design, which is of interest to him as it is structured differently from his Faculty.

On the second day, Professor Oi, Associate Professor Takatori, and Assistant Professor Asik, brought Professor Manum to tour the Research Center for Human Environmental Adaptation, Design Workshop, and Design Library, which sparked deep interest in our extensive research facilities.

After the tour, Professor Manum introduced the Norwegian University of Science and Technology Program and, in particular, the program from the Faculty of Architecture and Design and his research area. He shared his design philosophy based on sustainable development that takes nature and the environment into account, and the professors from the Department of Environmental Design shared the same belief.

In the afternoon, Professor Manum, guided by Associate Professor Takatori and Assistant Professor Asik, visited Island City to learn more about decarbonized architecture.

We look forward to a fruitful collaboration between the two faculties.
