On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, a delegation from Hasanuddin University, Indonesia, including Associate Professor Dr. Armin Lawi from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and 35 students from various schools, visited Kyushu University’s Ohashi Campus.
The visit program began with an introduction to the School and Graduate School of Design by the Geiko International Office. Students from Hasanuddin University expressed enthusiastic interest in combining various academic fields such as humanities and social sciences, international relations, and mathematics with “design.” They also asked specific questions such as “What can be studied in the Environmental Design course?” and “How detailed should the master’s research plan be when contacting prospective supervisors?”
Following this, the delegation took a campus tour, visiting the Design Workshop, the Design Library, and the Multi-purpose Building. The visitors showed keen interest in the well-equipped facilities and beautiful scenery of the Ohashi Campus while listening attentively to explanations provided by staff members.
Additionally, two international Kyushu University students from Indonesia presented their research at the Graduate School of Design. They explained not only their specific research topics but also provided information about scholarships and life on the Ohashi Campus.
The School and Graduate School of Design at Kyushu University have an inter-faculty agreement with the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University. It is expected that exchanges between the two institutions will become increasingly active through programs such as student exchanges.
