This series centers on the theme of the outer shell of absence, exploring ontological questions through sculptural forms that draw upon the human body, garments, memory, gaze, and contemporary trends. Rather than treating clothing as mere material or ornamentation, these works examine how garments acquire and transform meaning within relationships to self, others, and the passage of time.
Comprising six distinct pieces, each work approaches the notion of absence from a unique perspective. Throughout the creative process, absence emerged not as a simple void or passive state, but as an active and meaningful presence—evoked through memory, recollection, and social context.
Fabric, bearing traces of what once was, functions as a potent metaphor for absence. Rust, too, plays a vital role, manifesting absence through the visible residue of transformation, subtly pointing to a prior existence that has since faded.
