The reason why I chose the School of Design
I've loved drawing and making things since I was little, but when I entered high school, I didn't choose to study art. Later, when I was deciding on my path after graduation, I researched many faculties outside of the arts—but none of them felt right. Then, after I watched a movie, I thought, “I want to learn the techniques to create something like this.” For the first time, I genuinely wanted to go to university. I realized what I truly wanted to do, and I became convinced that the School of Design was the only place where I could learn it.
My most memorable class
One memorable class was “Animation Design.” It was my first time using Blender, a 3D-CG software, and I realized animation production requires an enormous amount of work and meticulous processes. At the same time, I felt the boundless depth that could be pursued and the joy of completing a piece of work. This made me want to master the skills further and create truly satisfying works.
My student life
In addition to my classes, I belong to a club called the “CBA Project,” where students create a fashion show entirely from scratch—handling costumes, video, lighting, sound, and more. Working with students across grades and courses to create one stage has taught me so much in a practical way. When busy, balancing club activities and daily life can be tough, but it is incredibly fulfilling and fun.
Message to prospective students
The School of Design is a place where you can freely pursue what you truly want to do, beyond the boundaries of the course. The moment you confront yourself and discover what you truly want to do, that becomes your reason for going to university. Trust your interests and take the plunge to challenge yourself.
