The reason why I chose the Graduate School of Design

I majored in chemistry at a technical college and later transferred into the School of Design at Kyushu University as a third-year student. Due to this background, I felt that I needed more time to deepen my specialization and research.
Another reason was my strong affinity with Geiko’s symbolic "The Konton (Chaos) Mark." In today’s society, where quick answers are often demanded, states of chaos can be unsettling. However, I believe that by remaining within the chaos that arises from curiosity and wonder, and continuing to learn from it, we can cultivate a multifaceted perspective that is essential for living in an unpredictable world.

My most memorable class

In the doctoral program, there are almost no classes. This offers the appeal of designing and carrying out your own curriculum. In my case, my focus is centered on media technology design, which includes learning practical approaches in care settings, learning how to expand theories, understanding the mechanisms behind technologies, and refining my English paper-writing skills. Therefore, I actively engage in research activities at hospitals in Japan and at research institutions overseas. Through these experiences, I aim not only to deepen my research but also to gain related skills, knowledge, and practical experience.

My student life

I am involved in collaborative research with universities in the United States, which often requires meetings early in the morning or late at night. It gets very busy when paper deadlines approach or during experimental periods, but the appeal is being able to work in a style that suits me.
