The 1st Geiko Alumni Reunion

Geiko International Office held the 1st Geiko Alumni Reunion online on Friday, December 9, 2022. This time, international students who graduated from Graduate School of Design, Kyushu University, and now teaching abroad participated. The purpose of the reunion was to bring together graduating students who have had few opportunities to keep in touch with each other after graduation and to promote active academic exchange through joint research and projects among faculty members and students of the universities. By having graduates introduce the attractiveness of the Graduate School of Design to students from other countries, we hope to attract more talented international students to the Graduate School of Design. We hope that the universities, which are geographically separated and have different languages and cultural backgrounds, will be able to work together to realize online education that can serve as a model for COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) and higher-quality academic collaboration in the future. We believe that the exchange at this reunion will surely be useful in the future.

Regarding future collaboration with the Graduate School of Design, the participants exchanged opinions on holding post-Corona face-to-face design workshops, conducting joint research projects, and holding research presentations like Geiko EXPO.
We all look forward to the day soon when alumni will gather at Ohashi campus to see each other face to face and discuss each other’s research and educational topics of interest.
