My current job
I am mainly responsible for checking the equipment used before and after the show and dealing with problems during the show. Each performance is a special day for the audience, even if it happens every day for us. Therefore, in order to maintain the same quality on a daily basis, we concentrate on the sound during the performance and deal with any discrepancies that arise.
In the future, I would like to be able to operate the microphone and music during the performance, so I have recently started studying for that as well.
How I spent my student life
I loved playing music as a performer, so I belonged to many music-related clubs. At the same time, I was also a member of the backstage circle. This is because I knew that it would be tough to continue as a performer in the future, but I wanted to work with sound. Both my experiences as a performer and behind the scenes have been very useful in my current work.
Messages for prospective students
At Geiko, those who have a concrete idea of what they want to learn and what they want to do in the future can pursue it to the fullest. On the other hand, even those with nothing set in stone will surely come into contact with various creative matters in classes, clubs, etc., and find things that interest them. If you have even the slightest interest in something, please come to Geiko! I am sure you will have a fun and fruitful university life. For current students, please nurture the interests you have found with care. They will definitely lead to your future.
