My current job

As a lighting designer, I work on projects of various scales, from Interior spaces to Urban master plans. Lighting designers consider user comfort and appropriateness, aim to enforce the context of the project, and wrap them with a unique atmosphere through lighting. We collaborate with various designers to proceed with the project. Although light cannot be seen in an exact shape, we are trying to create unique lighting ambiances that resonate deeply with the users' minds, believing in the possibility of lighting design.

How I spent my student life

I enjoyed struggling with the Department of Environmental Design Architectural assignments with advice from the seniors and inspiration from our classmates. During the master's courses, I chose the impression evaluation of nightscapes as the theme of the study and comprehended the approach to evaluating the design objectively.
Also, I joined the activities to collaborate with students from other courses to create large scaled installations together in the technical-related club activity and at the school festival every year. These kinds of experiences are unique for Geiko.

Message for prospective students

The Ohashi campus is the place to give the students many opportunities to talk with each other beyond the different courses. It might be because of the scale of the place or the minimum number of students. Through learning a wide range of knowledge based on the philosophy of Design, I believe you would find the significant aspect of diversity. In addition, the experiences accumulated in Geiko would encourage students to contribute to society through Design and help your challenge to achieve future goals.
