The reason why I chose the School of Design

The reason I chose the School of Design was because I wanted to foster not only my engineering knowledge, but also my own sensibilities and creativity, to be able to embark on more freely designed architecture. I felt that the School of Design offered the opportunity to gain a wide range of knowledge and skills related to design, including many things that I had not learned in my technical college. Furthermore, it was appealing that there were numerous lectures on landscape design as well as architectural design.

My most memorable class

The class "Design and Social Sciences" is one that particularly stands out in my memory. It was a philosophy class that illuminated the correlation between human love and economics through easy-to-understand examples. I found it very enlightening to see how my daily quandaries and the situations I found myself in could be mapped onto philosophical terms, leading to many "Aha!" moments. This is knowledge I believe I would not have gained had I transferred to a School of Engineering.

My student life

I am actively engaged in architectural design competitions. I enjoy working late into the night at the university and brainstorming ideas with my classmates - it is truly enjoyable. I am determined to improve my information gathering, creative thinking, and expression skills by actively participating in these competitions. I will strive to achieve good results as a student at Kyushu University's School of Design.
