The reason why I chose the School of Design

Having been exposed to musical instruments since a young age, I naturally had an interest in the arts. However, although I thought of majoring in an art-related field, I found it difficult to make a concrete decision on my career path. It was during this time that I attended an open campus event at Geiko and was attracted by the wide range of fields I could study. I decided to continue my learning journey at the School of Design, hoping to discover my true desires here.

My most memorable class

The most memorable class for me is the Transdisciplinary Project, "Considering ways to make concerts more accessible to people with impairment." It involved exploring and expressing "music" that could be enjoyed by people with and without hearing impairment. Thinking about creating music that can be enjoyed by people with diverse sound perceptions was challenging, leading to numerous discussions and experiments. Through this process, I began to view music from perspectives I hadn't considered before, such as "What is music?" and "Who is it for?" I feel that my understanding of music deepened through this class.

My student life

Beyond academic classes and spending time with friends, I am also involved in a club activity called "CBA project." This club is one of the Geiko festival projects in which members are divided into various groups, such as costumes, videos, and sound effects, to create a fashion show from scratch. I am responsible for making videos and promotional materials. This activity has allowed me to meet and befriend a lot of people from the same year as well as my juniors, bringing joy to my life!

Message to prospective students

While it's natural to have endless worries and uncertainties, I encourage you to face them squarely and make decisions you'll ultimately feel content with. Remember, this is as important as studying!
