The reason why I chose the School of Design

To be honest, I chose it simply because it seemed interesting. In high school, influenced by my friends, I started listening to various types of music and wanted to view music from multiple perspectives. That's when I learned about the Acoustic Design course. I thought it seemed interesting, and the more I looked into it, the more I realized it provided a comprehensive education on "sound," including its physical aspect, sound culture, and hearing. I applied, believing that I would find what I wanted to learn here.

My most memorable class

There's a class called "Fundamental Sound Recording and Creation," which mainly involves learning about recording. I especially remember this class where we had to record a radio program in groups. We had to set up a recording system using limited equipment within a set time, create jingles, and listen to what we recorded through speakers, among other things. I remember it being a lot of fun because we could experience many different things.

My student life

The School of Design provides an environment that makes it easy to join multiple clubs, and I'm taking on various challenges. Recently, I booked a recording studio, a research facility, to record the voice actors for an animation we're creating in a club called “nullken”. Apart from that, I've performed in concerts outside with a band formed with my Geiko mates and managed the PA system and lighting for concerts at the school, and I think I have a fulfilling student life.

Message to prospective students

Due to the nature of the School of Design, it might take a bit more courage to choose it compared to other faculties. However, it's a place where you can easily take on various challenges, learn what you want to learn, and be inspired by unique peers. I can confidently say that choosing Geiko was the right decision for me. I know it's tough, but please do your best in your studies for the examination so that you have no regrets! I hope that reading this will help you make a choice that you won't regret!
