The reason why I chose the School of Design

When I was in high school, I didn't have any specific dreams or goals, which made the decision about my future studies very challenging. Upon discovering the existence of Kyushu University's School of Design, I was attracted to its policy of "learning and researching both science and art simultaneously," Hence, I aimed to get into the School of Design. Also, the reason I aspired to join the School of Design included an opportunity to learn not only Architectural Design but also Architectural Structure, Green Environment Design, Urban Design, and various other fields in the Environmental Design Course.

My most memorable class

The class that left the most significant impression was 'Environmental Design Project.' In this project, a theme is provided, based on which we each need to carry out an architectural design. The final presentation involves presenting my building's design through models, floor plans, cross-sections, illustrations, and other methods, then receiving critique from the professors. Even when we design based on the same theme, the finished designs incredibly differ according to the individual, making the process quite intriguing. Moreover, having the chance to have my design evaluated by professionals in architecture is a valuable opportunity, and their critique is very educational. Creating models and drafts is a time-consuming process each time, and there are times when I struggle with finding a satisfactory design. However, when I can come up with good architectural design, there’s an immense sense of accomplishment.

My student life

I'm a member of the brass band club 'Geiko WINDS' and spend my time after school going to the club or working part-time. Through my part-time job and club activities, I've managed to interact with people outside the university and my class. This has made my daily life extremely fulfilling, allowing me to experience things I've never done before, which is very enjoyable.
